Character Commandant Cole Cabral

Page 1

In this page of the story we are introduced to the main character Jonas. In the part it says the he is frightened. Then Jonas thought the that word was too deep maybe more sickening feeling or something more terrible. From this we can infer that Jonas might be worried about something that is coming up. Then it tells a little bit when Jonas felt like this before and it was when an aircraft flew very close to the community. Aircraft's were not supposed to fly that close they were only to be close when dropping supplies off. whenever these aircraft's drops stuff off Jonas runs to the fence to watch. When the aircraft that flew so close to the community everybody waited for an explanation from the announcer.

 Pages 12-13

In these pages of the story Jonas is eating supper with is family, and at the dinner table the family is supposed to express their feelings. Jonas sister says that she was angry today because younger kids came to visit and they didn't know the rules. Then is goes into how the parents help her resolve her issue. Then it goes into Jonas feelings. Jonas says he feels apprehensive because of the ceremony of the twelve. He feels this way because the elders pick what you do for the rest of your life, and Jonas doesn't want to get a job that he wont like.

Pages 30 31

In this part of the story Jonas is going to to the center where they bathe the elderly. I think Jonas like going there because its a chance to relax from everything that's going on, and he like the trust that the elderly show when they are getting bathed. There is also a character named Fiona and Jonas has feelings towards Fiona. I think from has feelings like this might affect the decisions he makes and things he does.

Pages 24-25

In These pages of the story Jonas and his best friend Asher are playing toss with an apple. As they are playing when the apple is tossed into mid air Jonas notices the apple change into a ball. After he sees that he asked Asher and he doesn't see that. After this experience Jonas is even more apprehensive.

Pages 26-27

In this part of the story Jonas is talking about his childhood and how life is where is lives. Everything there is controlled and is perfect nothing strange happens and everything is perfect. I think that is a very wired way to live your life. Having everything controlled for you would be very different. From having a life like this Jonas has become very boring and stale.
